In order to continue Lancaster ISD’s mission of igniting learning that translates into sustainable success for all students in an ever-changing society, the district must move forward to address its growth and facility needs.

Lancaster ISD is considering a possible bond election in May 2015 and has chosen to form a Bond Steering Committee as part of the planning process.

A Bond Steering Committee is a group of community members that come together to study the facility needs of the school district and recommend a package to the Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees to put before voters in a bond election.  This committee is invaluable to the planning process because it allows the district to hear from and incorporate many different perspectives from the community.

The Bond Steering Committee will study a district-wide facilities assessment, the results of a community-wide survey, current district financial information, demographic information and project options and cost analysis. The committee will also take tours of existing district facilities and work collectively to develop a bond package that meets the district’s needs.

This website has been created solely for this process and includes a list of the committee members, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, all documentation reviewed by the committee, as well as a place for community members to submit questions to the district. The website will be updated on a weekly basis as the committee works through the process.

Lancaster ISD is confident this process will help make the best decision for our students and teachers and looks forward to working with the community on this important effort.
